What we do
Congo Poultry's mission is to strengthen food security by promoting local poultry production.

Dual-purpose poultry system
The company offers a dual-purpose poultry system that supports both egg and meat production, making it well-suited for rural environments. Deeply rooted in the local context, the project aims to address food insecurity while also promoting the empowerment of women and youth entrepreneurship in the region.

APMI (African Poultry Multiplication Initiative)
This model, developed by the World Poultry Foundation, is being rolled out by Hendrix Genetics/Sasso and its partners. it combines the local production and distribution of Sasso dual purpose chickens with training in poultry farming, business management, and biosecurity. Professional grower units raise the chicken to 4-5 weeks, then the pullets will further grow for meat or egg production at smallholders. While collaborating with international key partners such as Sasso, Nusana and CEVA, Congo Poultry supports the development of a sustainable and economically viable APMI network.

Layer Chicks
As one of our main activities next to Sasso, we produce Hisex Brown layers in Pointe Noire and Kinshasa (per end of 2025). Bigger sized farms have direct access to ISA in Europe via Congo Poultry. Please inquire for the supply times and financial conditions.

Maize
No feed, no chicken! Along with the development of the poultry sector, we have taken initiatives to develop the maize sector with our partners Nedcon (machinery and equipment) and Limagrain/Seedco via their distributor Agrisem in Kinshasa.
